First Steps
Finish any forced tutorial encounters and confirm you can move, dodge, melee, and trigger at least one ability. Note where the game stores your loadout and how to track the current objective.
What to Learn First
- Which button cancels or dodges out of enemy pressure.
- How your combat resource fills and what spends it.
- Where the game lists active missions and sub-objectives.
What to Upgrade
Early upgrades should make your loop more reliable: reach stagger or break faster, survive one extra hit, or reduce cooldown friction. Avoid maxing multiple unrelated trees.
What to Explore
Explore hubs and safe rooms connected to your current mission. Full map completion is rarely required in the first hours—return when the story or ability unlocks explicitly open new routes.
What to Ignore
- Collectible routes behind obvious ability gates.
- Build guides that assume end-game systems you have not unlocked.
- Optional challenges labeled above your current power unless you enjoy learning fights.
When You Get Stuck
Re-read the mission log, check for undiscovered fast travel or hub NPC prompts, and compare your unlocked abilities to any requirement text the UI shows. The Where to Go Next guide walks through this in more detail.
